The building

The parts of the house that everyone uses

J White Properties Ltd looks after a residential building for the people who live in it. The work is the entrance, the stairs, the landing, and the outside. Letters go to Moreton House, 31 High Street, Buckingham.

We do not buy houses in order to sell them, and we do not keep a lettings list. A sitting room inside one home is not our job to furnish.

Common

What is shared

Each household keeps its own rooms. The parts people walk through together are the ones we watch.

A fault

When something fails

A resident writes what they can see. A light out on the stair is dealt with before a scuff on a wall. If water is coming through a ceiling from a shared pipe, that is arranged by us. If the leak is only inside one home, we say so and leave that repair with the household.

See the stairs for the kind of building this is about.

The bill

Money for the shared work

People who live in the building pay toward cleaning, insurance of the place, and repairs that cannot wait. We set out what was spent and what is still to do, in ordinary words.

If a figure looks wrong, ask. The note should be readable without a specialist.

Who writes

A note from a resident

Tell us the building, the floor if it matters, and what you can see. A photo of the door, the stair, or the mark on the ceiling is more useful than a long complaint.
